Summary

This position is located in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), Office of Justice Programs (OJP). The incumbent serves as the Director for the Enterprise Infrastructure and Engineering Division (EIED). The incumbent is responsible for providing stable and secure operations and reliable client services across the OJP enterprise and inclusive of a broad range of technology, platforms, and functions.

Duties

Responsible for the operations and maintenance of Office of Justice Programs (OJP) enterprise infrastructure.

Plans, directs, and coordinates personal computer, local area network (LAN) services, telecommunications infrastructure and services, and overall enterprise infrastructure support for those program and business offices within OJP.

Serves as the focal point for OJP's office automation solutions and services and provides related information, guidance, support, and organizational policy.
Ensures that OJP's enterprise infrastructure is maintained and operated in alignment and adherence with existing and evolving Government cybersecurity related regulations and initiatives (ex: Office of Management and Budget's Cybersecurity Strategy and Implementation Plan (CISP)).
Designs solutions leading to the acquisition of new equipment in support of the OJP's overall data communications objectives.

Screen Out Factors:

Experience providing cloud-based infrastructure as a service (IAAS) and software as a service (SAAS) and providing Windows based end user computing (desktop, laptop) services.

MINIMUM FEDERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifying experience for the GS-15 level includes one year of specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-14 level which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position

Examples of specialized experience at the GS-14 level include: developing new solutions to critical IT issues and/or implemented new approaches to an Enterprise Infrastructure; providing technical advice, guidance, and/or recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical IT issues; providing user assistance and informational services needed to facilitate user interaction enterprise infrastructure; providing enterprise infrastructure services to include unified voice services, Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP), videoconferencing, storage, cloud and network access, hosting, end user compute, print, user support and training, service desk, and shared services to Department bureaus and offices.

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications as described above will be further evaluated based upon the following technical qualifications:

Knowledge of computer hardware/software technologies.
Knowledge of information systems security operations, techniques, and standards.
Knowledge of information technology systems administration.
Ability to supervise.
Ability to plan and execute an agency wide or corporation wide IT enterprise architecture.

TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENT: Status applicants for promotion must have 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade by the closing date.
